Anderson, a prior owner of the land with his long publicly admired literary works. Roxbury village has a great history of very famous people who have made this village their home. The likes of the recently deceased Richard Widmark, Walter Matthau, and Arthur Miller, along with present publicly familiar names as Dustin Hoffman,  Dennis  Leary, Steven Sondheim, late Frank McCourt to name just a handful of present famous citizens of this community.

The house is surrounded by exquisitely crafted native stone terraces, pillars, walkways, and a spectacular panoramic westerly view which capture hilltops, forests, and pastures framed by ancient stone walls which add to the ambiance and serenity of this home.  From here, it is possible to see up to 75 miles westerly to the Berkshires in New York.  These sites can also be enjoyed from every room of this gorgeous home with high vaulted ceilings as well as magnificent hand carved wooden accents and a custom  commissioned stained glass window accenting the opposite view wall off the  Great Room.  A very private, serene and quite setting.

When you enter through the front door, the focal point is a hand crafted brick and stone beehive corner fireplace with a ceiling height stone and stucco chimney framed by vaulted ceilings and a large rounded window highlighting the mile high vistas.
